
Earthquake felt across Pakistan’s regions on Saturday
Tremors were reported in Islamabad and several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, causing panic among residents who evacuated their homes and offices.
Reports indicated the quake was felt in districts such as Peshawar, Mardan, Chitral, Lower Dir, Malakand, Buner, and Battagram.
Residents in Mansehra, Balakot, and Kaghan Valley also experienced shaking, with heightened fear reported.
Strong tremors were noted in Abbottabad and its surroundings, while Lalian in Punjab also felt ground movement.
Seismic monitoring authorities stated the earthquake measured between 5.4 and 5.5 on the Richter scale, approximately 199 kilometers deep, with epicentre located in the Hindu Kush region. No immediate casualties or property damage have been reported.
Authorities are assessing the situation while district administrations remain alert.
