Earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, causing brief panic among residents. No loss of life or property has been reported so far.
Seismological Centre records 5.2 magnitude quake
According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake measured 5.2 on the Richter scale with a depth of 128 kilometres below the earth’s surface.
No casualties or damage in twin cities
Initial reports confirmed that no casualties or material damage were reported following the tremors in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Earlier quake in Khuzdar district
Tremors were also felt in Khuzdar district of Balochistan, with a magnitude recorded at 3.9. The depth of this earthquake was 10 kilometres, with its epicentre located 62 kilometres southeast of the district.
