Federal Government Appoints Farid Ahmad Tarar as Chairman of CCP

The Federal Government has appointed Mr. Farid Ahmad Tarar as the new Chairman of the (CCP). Tarar brings over three decades of experience in public financial management, regulatory reform, and economic governance.

Tarar’s extensive international experience includes roles with the European Union, FCDO-funded SEED programme, UNICEF-supported PFM initiative, and his service as Commercial Counsellor in Rome for Pakistan’s trade and economic diplomacy with the EU.

A seasoned civil servant, Tarar previously held positions as Secretary to the Government of Punjab, Finance Secretary of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Member of the Punjab Revenue Authority.

He holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Manchester Business School, UK, and an MBA (Finance). Tarar has also authored key policy documents for international development partners.
