FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony to Span Three Host Cities

The opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026 will not be confined to a single location. Organizers have planned an extensive entertainment program featuring major global music acts in Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

Instead of one grand event, the tournament’s launch will unfold across three host nations. Large-scale performances are scheduled for Mexico City, Toronto, and Los Angeles over consecutive days.

In Mexico City, the opening ceremony will feature the official tournament anthem “Dai Dai,” performed by Shakira and Burna Boy, alongside Latin American artists. The program then moves to Toronto, where Canadian and international performers like Michael Bublé and Alanis Morissette are set to perform in a diverse showcase. The final leg of the opening weekend takes place in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium, with Katy Perry as the headlining act.

This multi-city format aligns with FIFA’s strategy to position the tournament as both a sporting and cultural event, merging football with large-scale music performances across North America.
