A sudden fire broke out in Karachi’s Saddar area near Jodia Bazaar on Tuesday, sparking alarm among residents. The Sindh Rescue 1122’s Central Command and Control swiftly responded to the emergency, dispatching multiple teams including firefighters, rescue units, an ambulance, and a specialized truck.
Rescue 1122 spokespersons confirmed that firefighting efforts were in full swing as they worked tirelessly to control the flames. Initial reports suggest that casualties or the exact cause of the fire have yet to be verified, though it follows a string of recent incidents affecting Karachi’s commercial hubs.
Back-to-back fires at Gul Plaza, Electronics Market, and Landhi Industrial Processing Zone earlier this year have left a grim record in Karachi. Last month’s fire at Gul Plaza alone claimed 79 lives and several others were missing following the rescue operation, which sealed off the area indefinitely.
Karachi residents are living under an uneasy cloud of uncertainty regarding this latest incident, with authorities committed to rescuing any remaining individuals trapped within and ensuring thorough investigation into its cause.
