Former Husband of Vice President’s Wife Charged with Murder in Delaware

William Stevenson, 77, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of his current wife, Linda Stevenson, who was found unresponsive inside their home in New Castle County, Delaware. The indictment comes after Linda Stevenson, aged 64, was discovered dead by authorities during a police response to a report of domestic dispute.

Stevenson was arrested and arraigned, currently held at Howard Young Correctional Institution on a $500,000 bond. His legal representation status has not been disclosed yet.

William and Linda Stevenson were previously married from 1970 until their divorce in 1975. A spokesperson for the post-presidential Biden office did not comment on the recent arrest and charges.

Initially called to the residence due to a report of a domestic dispute, Linda Stevenson was later found unresponsive and pronounced dead by authorities. No further details have been provided regarding the cause or manner of her death, as investigators remain focused on their ongoing investigation.

Linda Stevenson, whose obituary described her as deeply family-oriented with an interest in traveling and supporting local sports teams like the Philadelphia Eagles, had founded a bookkeeping business in recent years. Her survivors include her daughter and granddaughter, who were noted for her strength, resilience, and unwavering love for her family.

The legal proceedings remain active, with updates expected as they unfold.
