Former Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa Undergoes Treatment After Fall

Qamar Javed Bajwa, a former four-star general who served as the head of the Pakistan Army from November 2016 to November 2022, sustained injuries after a fall at his residence and is currently under medical care in Rawalpindi’s hospitals. The incident occurred on Wednesday.

Bajwa’s accident prompted him to be promptly transferred to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. While initial reports indicated that he was suffering from minor bruises and sprains, more specific information regarding the severity of his injuries has yet to be made public by medical professionals.

The former military leader is known for his extensive career in the Pakistan Army. He served as the Corps Commander of X Corps, a strategically important unit based in Rawalpindi. Prior to this role, he was Inspector General Training and Evaluation at General Headquarters, overseeing operational readiness across the country’s forces.

Bajwa’s rise through the ranks also included stints with United Nations peacekeeping missions in Congo. During his time as Chief of Army Staff, Bajwa took on significant roles related to national security and counterterrorism operations, engaging in high-level diplomatic activities that influenced regional politics and economic partnerships.

Following his retirement from active duty in November 2022, Qamar Javed Bajwa has largely kept a low profile. His health status remains the subject of close monitoring by both the media and the public interested in military affairs.

Rawalpindi’s hospitals remain vigilant as word continues to circulate about Bajwa’s condition. With more information expected soon, updates on his recovery trajectory are eagerly anticipated for the sake of transparency and understanding among those who follow Pakistan’s defense sector closely.
