Karachi: Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), announced that the Pakistan-EU Business Forum is accepting applications for new and renewal memberships in 2026. The last date for submission is February 16, 2026.

Atif Ikram Sheikh highlighted that Pakistan’s trade with the European Union (EU) – a key export destination and economic partner – showed positive momentum in fiscal year 2025. Exports to the EU increased to approximately $8.86 billion, marking a notable recovery and growth compared to the previous year.

The EU remains among Pakistan’s most significant markets for exports. Notable sectors include textiles and apparel, leather goods, agro and food products, surgical instruments, and light engineering products, which constitute a substantial portion of Pakistan’s export portfolio.

To capitalize on these opportunities, FPCCI has established the Pakistan-EU Business Forum as a dedicated platform to support Pakistani businesses, exporters, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The Forum will expand outreach into Eastern European countries where there is observed emerging demand for Pakistani goods.

FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh emphasized that the forum will maintain structured interactions with Pakistan’s missions in EU capitals and European missions in Pakistan. These engagements aim to facilitate enhanced business networking, policy coordination, market access support, and trade promotion initiatives.

The activities of the Forum also focus on SME capacity-building, export diversification, trade facilitation awareness, and leveraging the EU’s GSP+ preferential access arrangements to unlock new opportunities for Pakistani exporters.

FPCCI membership is open to CEOs, Managing Directors, Directors, General Managers, Proprietors, as well as members of FPCCI Trade Bodies and Business Councils with EU countries, including women entrepreneurs and exporters. Existing members are invited to renew their memberships, while professionals and business leaders interested in new membership are encouraged to submit the prescribed application form along with required documents by February 16, 2026.

Atif Ikram Sheikh reiterated FPCCI’s commitment to deepening Pakistan-EU trade relations, urging active participation in Forum activities for benefitting from expanding opportunities in European markets.
