
French climber Pierre Guillaume’s body recovered after K-6 avalanche tragedy. The 40-year-old mountaineer lost his life during an expedition to summit K-6 in Ghanche district of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Local climbers Ghulam Abbas, Sajjad Hussain, Ismail Kaseer and Idris Jamali carried out the rescue operation. They transported Guillaume’s body to a safe location and prepared a temporary helipad for helicopter evacuation.
If weather conditions remain favorable, the body will be shifted to Skardu by helicopter. Fellow climbers, local guides, and support staff accompanying Guillaume are also at the safe location and reported as safe.
