French magistrates are probing possible offenses committed by French perpetrators linked to Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes. A Paris Public Prosecutor, Laure Beccuau, revealed that around 20 suspected victims have come forward since she urged potential victims to speak up in February.
Some of these new victims were previously unknown to investigators, with about 10 identified as being abroad. The prosecutor stated the team is currently listening to these victims and has arranged meetings for those who can travel to Paris.
The investigation into Epstein’s crimes was reignited following the release of files from the U.S. Justice Department probe. French magistrates are seeking to investigate possible offenses committed in France or involving French perpetrators who facilitated Epstein’s crimes. They have also retrieved Epstein’s computers, telephone records, and address books for further examination.
Epstein died in US prison in August 2019 while facing charges of trafficking underage girls for sex. The following month, French investigators searched Epstein’s luxury Paris apartment.
