The Government has announced a notable hike in fees for fast-track passport applications, effective from May 8.
Under the new fee structure, the cost of a 72-page passport will rise to Rs18,500, while a 100-page passport will now cost Rs23,000.
Additionally, machine-readable passports with a 10-year validity will incur the following fees:
– 36 pages: Rs16,200
– 72 pages: Rs25,200
– 100 pages: Rs32,000
This increase follows a previous adjustment in fees for both ordinary and urgent passport applications.

Government officials assert that the fee adjustments are essential to offset the expenses associated with issuing new passports and to enhance the quality of passport services.
