Government Seeks SC Legal Opinion on Refugee Seats Constitutional Status

The AJK government filed a reference with the Supreme Court seeking constitutional opinion on 12 refugee seats.

These seats were elected from outside the territorial jurisdiction of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

The presidential office sent this request to the apex court for legal guidance.

Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan ordered a full bench hearing upon receiving the reference.
