In a pre-Independence Day move, the government has lowered petrol and diesel prices by Rs8.47 and Rs6.7 per liter, respectively.
The petrol, after price reduction, now costs Rs 260.96 per litre and diesel Rs 266.07 per litre.
Typically adjusted every 15 days, the price change was announced early due to the independence day. The reduction is attributed to decreased international demand, particularly from major economies like China.
