Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain announced on Tuesday that Pakistani Hajj pilgrims from last year will receive refunds ranging from Rs20,000 to Rs100,000.
Addressing a press conference with the Additional Secretary for Religious Affairs, Hussain assured that this year’s Hajj costs remain unchanged, making Pakistan’s Hajj package the most affordable globally despite currency fluctuations.
The refunds will begin processing by Friday, with 3% of pilgrims receiving Rs140,000, 23% getting Rs75,000, and another 3,000 pilgrims refunded Rs50,000.
This year’s Hajj package is priced between Rs1,050,000 and Rs1,175,000, reflecting a Rs25,000 reduction per person from last year’s initial cost. While the government quota is fully booked, a hardship quota remains open.
Hussain also acknowledged the support from Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah in facilitating Pakistani pilgrims.
