
Hazara Region triumphed over South Region in cricket at the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minority Sports Festival’s final. The event, organized by Directorate General of Sports K-P, included various sports and recreational activities aimed at promoting inclusion among minority communities.
In football, South Region won with a victory over Malakand Region. Tug-of-war saw Minority Eleven outmuscling the Sports Department team to win. Wazirzada emerged victorious in Musical Chair event, while Senior Shoban and Junior Gerik took top honors in food competition categories.
Trophies were distributed by Director General Sports K-P Tashfeen Haider at the ceremony’s closing. Notable attendees included former MPs Wazirzada and Ravi Kumar, as well as Jamshed Baloch, Kashif Farhan, Ashfaq Ahmad, Waqas Khokhar, Naimatullah Marwat, Faisal Javed, Saeed Akhtar, Irshad Khan, and Adnan Joseph.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Tashfeen Haider said the provincial government is committed to providing equal sporting opportunities for minority athletes. He described the Minority Sports Festival as a significant initiative to promote inclusion, social harmony, and grassroots talent, under Chief Minister and Adviser for Sports Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand’s directives.
