The International Cricket Council (ICC) U-19 World Cup Super Six lineup has been finalized. The date for the highly anticipated match between Pakistan and India is set for February 1st.
In the conclusion of the group stage, India defeated New Zealand by seven wickets to claim first place in Group B. India’s performance was spearheaded by their formidable bowler RS Ambaresh who took four wickets and captain Ayush Mahatre, whose half-century contributed significantly to the victory.
India now heads into the Super Six stage as undefeated champions. The line-up for this phase includes teams from Groups A and D (New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe) in Group One, and those from Groups B and C (Pakistan, India, Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Afghanistan, West Indies, South Africa) in Group Two.
The Pakistan team, which finished second in Group C, enters the Super Six stage with two points after their victory over Zimbabwe. Their first match in the Super Six tournament will be against New Zealand on January 27th at Harare Sports Club. The most crucial game for Pakistan will then take place against India on February 1st.
To advance to the semi-finals, it is essential for Pakistan to secure victories in both of its Super Six matches.
During the Super Six phase, each team will compete in two matches before entering the knockout stage. The top two teams from each group (one from Group One and one from Group Two) qualify for the semi-finals, which are scheduled for February 3rd and 4th at Harare Sports Club. The tournament final will then be held on February 6th at the same venue.
