The Islamabad High Court heard petitions Wednesday from YouTuber Rajab Butt and TikToker Nadeem Mubarak (Naniwala) to remove their names from the passport control list. Justice Muhammad Azam Khan presided over the hearing, with Barrister Raja Qadeer Janjua and Advocate Ahad Khokhar representing the petitioners.
The court issued notices to Interior Secretary, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and other relevant authorities for responses. Notices were also given to the Director General of Passports and Immigration.
Petitioners requested the court to order the removal of their names from the travel-restricted list. After directing the respondents to submit replies, the court adjourned the hearing until next week.
Earlier that Monday, both had approached the IHC for permission to travel abroad. Both social media personalities are named in cybercrime and other cases and are currently subject to travel restrictions. They have filed separate petitions requesting removal of the ban on international travel. The petition names FIA, Interior Secretary, and other relevant authorities as respondents.
