India has named senior diplomat Dr Satyanjal Pandey as its next chargé d’affaires in Pakistan. The nomination has received formal approval from Pakistani authorities, paving the way for Dr Pandey to assume his new role in the coming weeks. He currently serves as India’s deputy high commissioner in Sri Lanka and is expected to relocate to Islamabad shortly.
Dr Pandey will replace Dr Geetika Srivastava, who has completed her tenure in Pakistan. She is set to return to India after overseeing the mission during a significant period in bilateral relations. The appointment reflects ongoing administrative changes within India’s foreign service and signals routine leadership transition at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
