Indonesian Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry, Rosan Roeslani, has arrived in Islamabad at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar. His arrival marks a significant step towards deepening bilateral economic ties between Pakistan and Indonesia.

The visit was officially welcomed by Ambassador Raditya Dika, Director-General for Asia Pacific East at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), upon Roeslani’s arrival at Islamabad International Airport on Monday evening.

During his stay in Pakistan, Roeslani is expected to engage in comprehensive talks with Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, focusing on bolstering trade and investment cooperation. The visit aims to further institutionalize the Joint Trade Committee agreement signed between the two countries in January, thereby enhancing dialogue channels for future economic partnerships.

This follows earlier initiatives where both nations had already signed seven MoUs and agreements spanning various sectors including higher education, scholarship programs, business facilitation, archives management, narcotics control, illicit drug trafficking prevention, Halal trade certification, and health cooperation.

Indonesian Minister Roeslani’s visit signifies a crucial phase in strengthening the economic partnership between Pakistan and Indonesia. His discussions are expected to pave the way for future collaborations that will benefit both nations’ economies.

The Foreign Office emphasized that this visit would contribute significantly to fortifying bilateral economic relations, laying the groundwork for sustained growth in trade and investment activities between these two important South Asian neighbors.
