Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh has stated that Tehran is ready to resume talks with the US if Washington proves its commitment to honoring the deal. Speaking to Al Jazeera Arabic, Khatibzadeh emphasized Iran’s monitoring of Israeli actions to ensure compliance with the agreement.

The official warned of serious consequences due to Israel’s ongoing military activities in southern Lebanon. He also highlighted Iran’s desire for peace across all fronts, including Gaza, but stressed that US diplomatic engagement hinges on fulfilling commitments under the existing accord.

US President Donald Trump urged a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah following renewed exchanges of fire. Speaking to NBC News, Trump confirmed his communication with Israeli officials about supporting the truce, though he did not confirm direct talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israel and Hezbollah agreed to reinstate the ceasefire mediated by the US and Qatar, according to sources. Iran also played a role in facilitating this agreement alongside Washington and Doha.
