
Iran executed two men on Saturday accused of spying for Israel. Yaghoub Karimpour and Nasser Bakarzadeh were found guilty of intelligence cooperation with Israel’s Mossad, according to Iranian media reports quoting the judiciary. Karimpour allegedly passed sensitive information to a Mossad officer, while Bakarzadeh was charged with collecting details on government and religious figures and key sites in Natanz area.
Earlier, 14 members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed and two injured during an attempt to defuse explosives in Zanjan province. The incident involved unexploded ordnance reportedly of US and Israeli origin. State media stated that over 1,200 hectares of land remain contaminated with explosive materials, some devices buried as deep as three metres underground.
