Iranian cyberattacks on Israel have surged since the US-Israeli offensive against Iran began this year. According to Yossi Karadi, Director General of Israel’s National Cyber Directorate, in June 2025, during Israeli military operations against Iran, authorities registered around 1,600 hostile cyber incidents. By June 2026, this number had risen to approximately 4,800 incidents.
Karadi emphasized that some groups are highly skilled and require serious attention from authorities. Unlike kinetic conflicts, there is no ceasefire in cyberspace. The attacks have targeted critical infrastructure systems, central organizations, small to medium-sized companies, and even public entities like law practices and accounting firms.
So far, Israel has managed to fend off attacks on its critical infrastructure, though smaller companies often suffer when their computer systems are wiped out after being easier to penetrate. Iran typically denies involvement in hacking campaigns against other countries while claiming responsibility for attacks directed at itself.
