Iran’s top negotiator, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, said US bases and Israeli assets in the Middle East are legitimate targets due to the naval blockade of Iran and Israel’s green light for escalating attacks in Lebanon.
Qalibaf made these comments following Israeli strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, a stronghold of Iran’s ally Hezbollah. He stated that both the US and Israel have shown they only understand power through actions like the naval blockade and violation of agreements regarding Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran to discuss ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran and regional stability.
Pakistan’s emissary also held talks with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, exchanging views on ceasefire efforts and dialogue aimed at reducing tensions. Naqvi expressed hope that Pakistan’s leadership would contribute to easing the crisis and praised senior Iranian officials for pursuing dialogue and stability.
