
Ishaq Dar Leaves for New York After China Visit
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced his departure for New York after accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. The foreign minister will attend the United Nations Security Council’s open debate on “Maintaining International Peace and Security,” chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, from May 26 to 28.
Dar Will Also Attend Group of Friends Meeting
During his stay in New York, Dar plans to participate in a meeting of the Group of Friends at the UN and hold several important meetings with foreign ministers from different countries. He thanked China for warm hospitality, arrangements made for celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic ties, and successful visit organization.
Pakistan Values Longstanding Friendship With China
Dar expressed appreciation for the efforts of Pakistani Embassy staff in Beijing and hopes for constructive discussions on regional and global issues during his stay in New York.
