Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, emphasized the “absolute necessity” for Israel to recognize that its existence is intertwined with the establishment of a Palestinian state.
“It is absolutely necessary that Israel accepts that it cannot exist without the existence of a Palestinian state,” the top Saudi diplomat told reporters.
Speaking to reporters in Brussels, Belgium, after attending a meeting of the Ministerial Committee assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit on Developments in the Gaza Strip, Prince Faisal stressed that Israel’s security is enhanced by the creation of a Palestinian state.
The committee focused on ending the Gaza conflict and advancing towards implementing a two-state solution, addressing the urgent need for stability in the region.
Prince Faisal urged Israeli leaders to collaborate with the international community to strengthen the Palestinian Authority and work towards establishing a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, which is widely acknowledged as the appropriate course of action.
