Israel launches missile strike near Tehran

In a fresh wave of tension between Israel and Iran, explosions shook Tehran as Israeli forces launched missile strikes on Saturday. Defense Minister Benny Gantz confirmed that while no direct targets were identified, air raid sirens had been sounded across Israel in preparation for possible retaliatory attacks.

The move came amid escalating tensions triggered by President Donald Trump’s threats to strike Iran, who has responded with countermeasures and military build-ups. Recent incidents involving Israel and Iran have highlighted the heightened risk of conflict in the region.

In Haifa, lawyer Maya Liya Cohen reflected on these new developments, noting that “the threat of war is a kind of routine for us.” She emphasized the city’s constant readiness, stating, “No matter what happens, our house remains a safe place ready with emergency supplies and water.”

Following this incident, Pakistan advised its nationals to avoid all non-essential travel to Iran due to potential risks. Pakistani residents in the country were instructed to exercise caution and maintain regular contact with their embassies.

As tensions continue to simmer, both sides remain poised for any flare-up in the region’s volatile landscape.
