Israeli Airstrikes Kill at Least 19 in Southern Lebanon
On Tuesday, Israeli airstrikes targeted southern Lebanon, killing at least 19 people and leaving several others injured. The Health Ministry of Lebanon reported four women and three children among the fatalities.
The Israel-Hezbollah conflict has seen near-daily attacks despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire since April 17. The latest fighting began on March 2 when Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel, following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
In Beirut, a single strike in Deir Qanoun al Nahr killed 10 people, including three children and three women. Three others were injured, with one being a child.
Another airstrike in the southern city of Nabatieh resulted in four fatalities and 10 injuries, while a third attack on Kfar Sir claimed five lives, including one woman.
The death toll from the latest round of fighting surpassed 3,000, displacing over a million people in Lebanon. Israel has struggled to halt Hezbollah’s drone attacks targeting its troops in southern Lebanon and northern Israeli border towns.
