Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Monem Zafar has announced a complete strike on April 26 in protest against the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, criticising the silence of the international community and Muslim countries.
Speaking in Karachi, he said, “The people of Karachi sent a clear message on April 13 by standing in solidarity with Palestinians. We will now observe a full strike to further press our support.”
He described Gaza as resembling a graveyard, with 90% of the area destroyed, and condemned the inaction of the UN, OIC, and Arab League, calling the OIC a “practically dead entity.”
Zafar claimed that U.S. support enables Israeli military action, alleging it undermines its own stance on human rights.
He praised Hamas fighters for resisting Israeli forces and called on Pakistan, Turkey, and Malaysia to take decisive action.
Urging Karachi’s business community and students to show solidarity, he appealed for a boycott of Israeli products.
