Sindh Governor, Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, has announced that the Sindh Infrastructure Development Company Limited (SIDCL) will be allocated additional projects. He stated that he will write a letter to Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on this matter. At present, the city requires over 15,000 additional buses to provide travel facilities to the public. He made these remarks while talking to the media after his visit to the SIDCL.

During his visit, the relevant authorities briefed the Sindh Governor on various projects of the company. The Governor visited the Green Line’s exhibition at the station where he was given a detailed briefing about ticketing machines and the project. The Sindh Governor purchased a Green Line bus ticket and traveled.

Responding to commuters’ complaints, the Sindh Governor also announced the installation of fans at the station. The Governor’s initiative was highly appreciated by the passengers present. The Governor instructed the relevant authorities to take necessary action promptly.

The Governor further said that the completion of major projects in the city, including the Circular Railway, Red, and Yellow Lines, is vital. He emphasized that public-interest projects should not be politicized as they directly benefit the public. He emphasized that just as an emergency has been imposed on education, similar urgent measures need to be taken here to address the city’s transportation issues. All stakeholders will have to sit together to resolve this issue.

He added, “I am the representative of the federal government. We will resolve issues under the coordination of the federal and provincial governments.” Recommendations were also sought from the SIDCL during the meeting last week on how to improve these projects with the federal government.
