Karachi Police Bust Exam Paper Leak Ring
Four individuals have been arrested in Karachi as part of an operation targeting those involved in leaking exam papers during matriculation board exams. The suspects were apprehended from various areas, including Malir, Surjani, New Karachi, and Gulshan.
The ringleader, identified as Mubeen Khan, is a final-year cybersecurity student at Sindh Madressatul Islam. He reportedly leads 13 groups with approximately 13,000 members. Other arrested suspects include an intermediate student.
According to police officials, the accused were already extorting large sums of money from students in exchange for leaked exam papers. They would guarantee paper leaks a night before exams and collect payments through various online banking channels.
The cheating network was also found to be conducting sessions at students’ homes near examination centers. Secret spots near exam locations were used for illegal activities, with authorities reporting that up to Rs40,000 could be charged from a single student.
Further investigations are ongoing following the arrests of these individuals.
