Karachi Power Outages as Over 240 K-Electric Feeders Trip After Rain

Numerous areas of Karachi are experiencing power outages as over 240 K-Electric (KE) feeders tripped following rainfall, sources told Headline PK.

Affected areas include North Karachi, Shadman, UP, Orangi, Gulistan-e-Johar, Gadap, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Additionally, Surjani, Taiser Town, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Razzaqabad, Gizri, Baldia, Sher Shah, Kemari, Maripur, Old City Area, Jacob Lines, and Bizert Road are also without electricity.

Further power outages have been reported in Punjab Colony, Malir, Khokhra Par, Model Colony, Kazimabad, Kharadar, Metroville, Site, Ahsanabad, Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, and Landhi, as well as in Manzoor Colony, Akhtar Colony, Qayyumabad, Khoja Ajmer Nagri, and Hub River Road.

According to K-Electric, 13 feeders tripped in Surjani, 25 in Gulistan-e-Johar, 5 in Gulshan, 7 in Orangi, 2 in Defence, 2 in Baldia, and 3 in Society.

The rainfall, which brought relief from the intense heatwave, led to widespread power disruptions across the city on Thursday afternoon.
