The National Stadium Karachi is set to be inaugurated tomorrow (Tuesday) after undergoing a complete renovation ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025.

The tournament’s opening match between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand will take place at the upgraded venue on February 19. To mark the stadium’s reopening, a colorful event featuring performances by renowned singers, a fireworks display, and a light show will be held, with free entry for the public.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the renovation began on September 28 and was completed by January 31. The project included rebuilding the pavilion, installing new seating across all enclosures, and upgrading the stadium with modern LED lights, advanced score screens, and protective grills.

For an improved viewing experience, barriers have been removed, hospitality boxes have been modernized, and a pedestrian bridge has been constructed for easier access.

Naqvi praised the collaborative efforts of the Frontier Works Organization (FWO), NESPAK, contractors, and the PCB team for successfully completing the project on time.
