Former Royal Butler Shares AI-Generated Photo
Grant Harrold, King Charles’ former butler, issued a clarification after sharing an image of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Instagram. The photo, which appeared to depict the couple in their early relationship days, was later identified as potentially AI-generated.
Harrold served the royals from 2004 to 2011, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, before being made redundant. He often shares photos from his time with the royal family on social media platforms.
The image sparked speculation among royal fans due to its blurry aspects and awkward angles. Harrold quickly clarified that he did not take or own the image, stating it was a memory of how William and Kate appeared during his early years in the Royal Household. He also noted that AI-generated images can be difficult to distinguish from real ones.
