King Harald, on a winter vacation in Spain’s Canary Islands, urgently sought medical attention following an undisclosed infection and dehydration. According to the Norwegian royal palace, he was admitted that evening to the Hospital Universitario Hospiten Sur in Tenerife. His Majesty’s condition is currently deemed stable under the circumstances.
In a separate development, the king’s personal physician has been dispatched from Oslo to assist local healthcare services. A statement issued by the royal palace indicated, “The King’s personal physician will visit Tenerife upon his arrival there to evaluate the situation.” The royal couple are in private holiday accommodations on Tenerife at present.
Royal officials have pledged a detailed update on the king’s health status for Wednesday, 25th February, after the physician completes his assessment. Despite previous concerns and given his age of 89, the palace maintains that King Harald is currently in robust health despite this minor setback during his annual vacation.
