Khalid Hussain Baath, central chairman of Kissan Ittehad, has issued a call for widespread protests across Punjab, refusing negotiations with the provincial government and demanding direct talks with higher authorities.
Rejecting proposed discussions with secretaries, Baath announced plans for farmers to mobilize in every district and tehsil of Punjab, bringing their harvests, tractors, and children to demonstrate their grievances. Major highways will be occupied until demands are met.
Baath urged Maryam Nawaz to prioritize farmers’ rights over charity, warning of escalating protests if demands are ignored. He voiced concern over nationwide farmer unrest, emphasizing the challenge of controlling such demonstrations once initiated.
While condemning recent violence against farmers, Baath reaffirmed the peaceful nature of their protests. He underscored the interconnectedness of society, stressing the need for respect towards farmers’ rights and livelihoods.
