Lahore Sessions Court Extends Bail for Saqib Chadhar
A Lahore sessions court on Saturday extended the interim pre-arrest bail of Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar and his wife, Sameera Siddiqui, in a harassment case registered by actress Momina Iqbal.
District and Sessions Judge Irfan Ahmed Sheikh issued a written order granting both accused interim pre-arrest bail against surety bonds of Rs50,000 each. The relief is extended until June 24.
Chadhar and his wife argued they were nominated on the basis of mala fide intentions and false allegations. They feared arrest and sought interim bail.
The court directed both to join the investigation and ensure their attendance at every hearing of the case.
National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) registered a case against Chadhar and his wife based on Momina Iqbal’s complaint. The matter remains under investigation.
Chadhar submitted a statement to NCCIA, outlining events. He claimed he first met Momina Iqbal in 2020 and developed a close relationship with her. They traveled together within Pakistan and abroad, with Chadhar bearing all expenses.
He stated they ended the relationship in 2025 after learning of Momina’s prior marriage. Chadhar also provided financial assistance to Momina and her sister on various occasions.
During investigation, he claimed Rs8.3 million was transferred to Momina’s accounts at different times. He alleged Rimsha received 10,000 Australian dollars through blackmail and he paid 13,000 Australian dollars towards her university fee.
Chadhar also alleged certain individuals threatened to release photographs and videos. He maintained there were contradictions in the complaints submitted to NCCIA and police and described allegations against him as baseless.
The investigation continues while Chadhar and his wife secure interim pre-arrest bail from Lahore sessions court.
