The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted mainly dry weather with clear skies in Lahore for the Basant festival celebrations. According to the PMD, dry and pleasant conditions are expected on February 6 and 7, while February 8 may see dry conditions with a few clouds. Light westerly to northwesterly winds, blowing at around 10 to 15 km/h, will prevail, making weather suitable for kite flying.
The department advised the public to exercise caution during festivities. Kite flyers were urged to remain vigilant, particularly near electric lines and open roads, to avoid accidents. The meteorological authority stated it would continue monitoring weather conditions and providing updates as necessary.
