Locals Reject India’s Claim of Killing Militants on LoC, Say Two Unarmed Civilians Shot Dead Instead

India claims two alleged militants were killed along Line of Control (LoC) on April 23, 2025, in Sarjeev sector. However, local residents dispute this, stating the deceased were unarmed civilians searching for livestock.

Residents identified the victims as Malik Farooq and Muhammad Deen, aged between 50 and 60. They say both men were shot by Indian forces, rejecting the claim they were militants. Locals view the incident as unjust, accusing India of wrongly labeling civilians as militants.
