Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approves Cyber Crime Unit in Punjab
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the establishment of a Cyber Crime Unit. This decision came during a meeting chaired by her, where she gave approval for the unit’s formation.
The briefing explained that victims of blackmail and harassment will no longer need to visit a police station or any office to lodge complaints. A mobile unit will visit affected minors for complaint registration.
Victims, particularly women, can also lodge complaints through a virtual police station while maintaining complete confidentiality. Legislation will be introduced to ensure exemplary punishment for criminals involved in such activities.
