Michael B. Jordan won the Oscar for his performance as twin brothers in Sinners last night. Shortly after, a throwback photo of him with Drake appeared online.
In the image, Drake, known as Drizzy, is seen standing near a bar counter at what appears to be a restaurant or lounge. He has glasses in front of him and is gesturing wildly, seemingly sharing a story with Jordan and another man.
Jordan, amused by Drake’s tale, stands with arms crossed and displays an enormous smile. The 39-year-old actor became the sixth Black artist to win an Academy Award. In his acceptance speech, he thanked his family, director Ryan Coogler, and the film’s leading ladies, Wunmi Mosaku and Hailee Steinfeld.
He expressed gratitude for past Black artists like Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, and Will Smith. Jordan concluded by thanking everyone in the room and at home for their support throughout his career.
