Munim Zafar, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, criticizes PPP’s 18 years of unfulfilled promises to transform Lyari into Paris. Speaking at Lyari Eight Chowk, he highlights Nasir Hussain Shah’s announcements for road rebuilding, sewerage improvement, and clean water supply.

However, Zafar alleges that the Pakistan Peoples Party has repeatedly made these promises over the past 18 years without any tangible development. He claims each new development package in Lyari becomes a source of corruption.

Zafar states that Lyari remains under PPP control with each union council receiving two crore rupees annually. Over the last two years, 13 union councils received a total of 52 crore rupees.

He questions what work has been done by the town administration or local government minister in the past three years, accusing them of repeatedly deceiving Lyari residents. Zafar announces a campaign titled “Haq Do Lyari Ki Awam Ko” to demand basic rights for the area’s inhabitants.
