In an era marked by solemnity, Pakistan extended its condolences to the global Muslim community following the tragic death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Speaking from Islamabad, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi addressed this somber occasion, declaring it a day of profound grief not just for Pakistan and Iran but also for all Muslims worldwide. He conveyed his anguish through a statement, emphasizing that every Pakistani citizen is united in mourning alongside the people of Iran at this momentous loss.
“Today,” Naqvi articulated with gravity, “is indeed a day of sorrow. We stand together with our Iranian brothers and sisters in their time of crisis.”
Intriguingly, despite the global controversy surrounding Khamenei’s demise, which has sparked intense debate about state sovereignty and international law, the interior minister exhorted Pakistanis to approach this situation responsibly.
“While we mourn this loss, let us also remember the importance of adhering to our legal structures,” Naqvi advised. “We must remain vigilant in ensuring that any demonstrations or expressions of support are conducted with utmost respect for the established rules and guidelines.”
Meanwhile, official Iranian media has confirmed Khamenei’s passing as a result of targeted attacks by both Israel and the United States. As a show of solidarity, authorities have announced a seven-day national holiday along with a forty-day mourning period.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi underscored his country’s commitment to unity amidst this tumultuous period, pledging to support Iran during its most trying times.
