Nia Long’s Prince Encounter Regret Revealed on Angie Martinez IRL Podcast

American actress Nia Long recently reminisced about her encounter with late singer-songwriter Prince during an appearance on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast.

Long recalled meeting Prince unexpectedly and not recognizing him until later in life. She wore Kenneth Cole black snake embossed shoes when they met, which she still has.

Prince tried to talk to her and grabbed her hand, making Long uncomfortable as she had no idea it was the Purple Rain hitmaker. Her then-girlfriend told her it was Prince after they left the building, but Long felt angry for not being informed earlier.

Long shared that she met Prince again years later when she became an actress. He was lovely but focused on her haircut during their conversation.

Prince, whose full name was Prince Rogers Nelson, died at 57 from an accidental fentanyl overdose on April 21, 2016.
