Novo Nordisk, the global healthcare company with more than a century of leadership in diabetes care and a growing focus on obesity, has appointed Mehtaz Sultan Khan as General Manager for Pakistan, effective 3 August 2026.

Mehtaz joins Novo Nordisk at a key stage in the company’s growth in Pakistan, following the launch of its innovative obesity therapy earlier this year and continued commitment to expanding access to care for people living with chronic diseases.

He brings more than 15 years of leadership experience across healthcare and consumer goods, with expertise in commercial strategy, brand building, portfolio management, and business transformation across Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the Gulf, and Iraq.

Prior to joining Novo Nordisk, Mehtaz served as Marketing Director, Abbott Nutrition International (Pakistan & Iraq), where he led commercial transformation and portfolio growth. He has also held leadership roles at Reckitt, Nestlé, Almarai, and Shan Foods.

His appointment underscores Novo Nordisk’s strategic focus on Pakistan, where the burden of diabetes and obesity continues to grow.

Mehtaz Sultan Khan, General Manager, Novo Nordisk Pakistan, said: “I am excited to join Novo Nordisk at an important time for both the company and Pakistan’s healthcare landscape. As the burden of diabetes and obesity continues to rise, there is a significant opportunity to improve patient outcomes through innovation, stronger partnerships, and greater disease awareness. With Novo Nordisk’s strong legacy in scientific excellence, I look forward to working with our team and stakeholders to expand access to care, advance the understanding of chronic diseases, and deliver sustainable value for patients and the healthcare system.”

Burak Cem, Vice President, Novo Nordisk Business Area Middle East and Central Asia (BAMECA), said: “Pakistan is an important market for Novo Nordisk. Mehtaz brings strong experience, and a good understanding of the local healthcare landscape. His experience will be instrumental as we continue expanding access to innovative therapies and strengthening our partnerships across Pakistan.”

Novo Nordisk has operated in Pakistan for decades and continues to invest in the country’s healthcare ecosystem through scientific innovation, disease awareness, and collaboration with healthcare stakeholders.
