Pakistan and Belarus have agreed to establish a comprehensive roadmap to enhance collaboration in agriculture, mining, information technology, and heavy machinery manufacturing. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Islamabad.
Following their discussions, Prime Minister Sharif announced plans to reconvene this afternoon to further refine the roadmap, with another meeting scheduled in two weeks to finalize actionable steps. These discussions will culminate in February with the signing of formal agreements aimed at maximizing mutual benefits.
Shehbaz Sharif praised President Lukashenko as a valued friend of Pakistan and expressed gratitude for Belarus’s support of Kashmiris’ struggle for self-determination.
President Lukashenko reciprocated the sentiment, describing Pakistan as a close and friendly nation. He commended Prime Minister Sharif’s pragmatic leadership and highlighted extensive discussions on agriculture, defense, and technology collaboration. Lukashenko expressed interest in importing Pakistani textiles and sharing Belarusian technologies.
Delegation-level talks explored the full spectrum of bilateral relations alongside regional and global issues. Both leaders reaffirmed commitments to boosting political dialogue, strengthening inter-parliamentary exchanges, and enhancing trade and economic ties.
The leaders expressed satisfaction with the growing momentum in Pakistan-Belarus relations, agreeing to maintain this progress through consistent high-level interactions and institutional collaboration.
