The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that the country’s 5G spectrum auction will take place on March 10, 2026. The confirmed timeline gives telecom operators sufficient time to prepare for the event.
PTA highlighted that a transparent and participatory auction process would be ensured, with bidders instructed to review the information memorandum provided by PTA.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) also emphasized the importance of responsible social media use as a shared national responsibility. Citizens are urged to exercise caution when sharing content online, refraining from posting illegal, hateful, defamatory, or false information that could harm state institutions, the judiciary, or individuals.
Any violations will be punishable under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016, as stated in a PTA news release.
