Pakistan Attends SCO Security Talks in Moscow

Pakistan’s participation at a Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) consultative meeting in Moscow on April 24, 2026, marked an important step towards enhancing regional security and international activities. The meeting focused on strengthening coordination among member states and improving the organization’s global engagement.

Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi of Pakistan highlighted the SCO as a vital platform for promoting peace, security, and cooperation in the region, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to its principles, the United Nations Charter, and international law. He underscored the need for joint measures against terrorism, extremism, and illegal drug trafficking, while stressing the importance of cooperation for inclusive security and sustainable development.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Tirmizi also met with heads of delegations from Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, China, and Kyrgyzstan to discuss matters of mutual cooperation under the SCO framework.
