President Asif Ali Zardari will confer the Nishan-e-Pakistan, Pakistan’s highest civilian award, on the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan during their official visits. The ceremony will take place at the Aiwan-e-Sadr where President Zardari will formally present the decorations to the visiting dignitaries.
State banquets are scheduled for the leaders’ honour, attended by members of the federal cabinet, parliament, diplomatic corps, and other high-profile figures. On Tuesday, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at Nur Khan Airbase. The visit is part of a series of state visits aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.
Tokayev was accompanied by a high-level delegation that included senior cabinet ministers and other officials, who were welcomed with traditional attire and national flags from both countries.
During his stay, President Tokayev is expected to hold talks with Pakistani leaders, address the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Business Forum, and discuss expanding cooperation in areas such as trade, logistics, regional connectivity, and people-to-people contacts. Both sides also plan to explore collaboration at both regional and international forums.
Concurrently, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyayev is scheduled for a state visit in February 2026, with similar events planned including diplomatic meetings, official banquets, and economic forum engagements.
These visits underscore the deepening ties between Pakistan and Central Asian nations. They highlight shared commitments to fostering cooperation, advancing peace, and promoting progress in the region.
