Pakistan Suspends Hajj Flight Schedule Amid Middle East Tensions

Following heightened security concerns in the region, particularly over potential attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel, Pakistan has temporarily halted the preparation of its Hajj flight schedule. Despite this suspension, visa issuance for pilgrims continues unabated, with two-thirds already processed.

Ministry sources indicate that preparations are proceeding cautiously to ensure safety, even as some staff have been asked to work over the weekend to maintain smooth operations. The process is expected to continue until Eid-ul-Fitr, by which time a full schedule will be ready, including details on flights, accommodations, room allocations and other arrangements.

Visa issuance has commenced at full speed, with 120,000 pilgrims receiving their visas over the weekend. These preparations are crucial as they allow for seamless coordination of logistics before Eid-ul-Fitr approaches. The finalized schedule will be made available through the Ministry’s official website and the Pak Hajj mobile app.

In parallel, a second phase of pilgrim training is set to begin immediately post-Eid-ul-Fitr, ensuring all necessary materials and schedules are in place for those participating in this significant religious event.
