Pakistani and Foreign Crew Held Hostage on Hijacked Oil Tanker
A video showing hostages, including Pakistani crew members, aboard a hijacked oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden has emerged. The footage was recorded by one of the pirates and shows captives gathered inside the ship’s hall.
Some hostages were seen sleeping, while others appeared distressed as they sat quietly. Among those abducted are believed to be Pakistani nationals along with crew from other nationalities.
Families of the kidnapped Pakistanis living in Karachi have identified their loved ones in the footage, raising concerns over the safety of the hostages. They have appealed to the government for intensified efforts to recover the crew and ensure their safe return.
This development comes eight days after the vessel’s hijacking. A day prior, the Governor of Sindh met with families of the abducted crew members and assured them of support. The emergence of the video has reignited attention on the hostage crisis and increased pressure for swift diplomatic and security measures.
